icSend - an Easy Way to Send Emails from the Internet Computer
- written by Roland BOLE (Instructor)
Sending an email in the Web2 world is a straightforward task with numerous available methods. However, when it comes to decentralised applications, the process becomes significantly more challenging, even on the Internet Computer.

The icSend project was created to simplify this task as much as possible. It was created as an enterprise solution for the use with multiple static websites on the Internet Computer. The company needed a way to send various form contents from these static websites via email and securely store the sent emails.

Sending an email is a classic Web2 task, but there is no ready-made solution for this on the Internet Computer. Therefore, we decided to create a new service that combines Web2 and Web3 technologies to address this need.

Another crucial aspect for the icSend implementation was the GDPR compliance. All services must be located within the European Union and operated by European companies.

To meet these requirements, we developed the following solution, as illustrated in the image below.

icSend-Overview

Currently, the project is exclusively used by samlinux development (samlinux.at ), a company that hosts several static websites within the European subnet of the Internet Computer.

However, in the near future, we plan to make this service available to a broader audience. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting development.
